Dan & Shannon,
I’m not sure you know the power that little heart can hold. Having cancer is really lonely experience at times. Holding that heart in my hand helps me stay in the moment, ground myself, focus on the things and people in my life who care about me and have stuck around through this. It’s given me some fight on the days I feel like I don’t have much left to give. It’s been huge for me. And I am endlessly grateful to you for that gift!

It seems such a simple thing you are doing, but I can FEEL the compassion and generosity and love that you put into making these. It's clear that you feel called and have answered. You are a powerful healer. Seriously, the energy of these hearts is so intense that I cried when I first saw them. I have one to my daughter in law, who is healing from a very terrible traumatic event and she cried as soon as she saw it. I'm guessing that is not an unusual response.

Dan and his beautiful and powerful hearts impact lives. As an 30 plus year veteran in public schools, educators see, hear, and hold much with staff, children and families they serve. There is joy and there also is much tragedy and hurt.
These hearts are healing and remind others there is someone holding them in the hard but heart filled lift.
Dan, your beautiful hearts have been well received by my students, teachers and leaders. This is truly powerful what you are doing/offering in your work. Your gift has gone on to gift many individuals. They flash me their hearts and/or have them in their desks or in their pockets. It’s a tangible reminder that we are journeying and lifting together. As you say, you are never alone.
Resilience comes in community and it’s built with love and care; we are reminded of that as we carry our hand carved hearts.
Thank you truly.
With sincere appreciation and gratitude.
